Sauvageon 2019

Domaine Pignier’s flagship Savagnin white (ouillé). The grapes are sourced from one of the estate’s plot at Val de Vallière, hillside facing Montaigu, southern exposure. A very low yielding plot where the grapes were rigorously selected. Slowly pressed directly into oak barrels for fermentation with regular topping up followed by elevage of 18 months on lees. Nothing added nothing removed. Ageing took place in oak barrels for 12 months. A fine and powerful nose of exotic fruits evoking the great aromatic richness of Savagnin. Lively and very delicate on the palate. Great ageing potential.
