Friuli, in the most northeastern part of Italy, bordering with Slovenia has been the bedrock of modern orange wine traditions with world admired names such as Radikon, Gravner, Princic, Terpin and many more. Mostly, extensive macerations resulting in deep, powerful and very complex wines. Stefano who is the winemaker behind Ronco Severo, a relatively new winery in this region that is now getting recognised with the above names, produces this jolly orange wine from the local Ribolla Gialla variety. The maceration and unique Friuli expression is definitely there, yet with more drinkability and juiciness. A more approachable iteration. We recommend serving chilled and opening 15-20 minutes before drinking.
